While Pakistan continues the struggle to tame its Taliban elements, coalition forces are claiming some
success in neighbouring Afghanistan.

A joint operation by foreign forces and Afghan army has killed Ghulam Yahya Akbari, a Taliban
commander, in the western province of Herat.

He was believed to be behind the growing insecurity in Herat.

But as Al Jazeera’s Zeina Khodr reports from Kabul, it is not clear if the killing will lead to any stability.
