Professor Robeson Taj Frazier is a cultural historian who explores the arts, political and expressive cultures of the people of the African Diaspora in the United States and elsewhere. He is an associate professor at the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California, and director of the school's Institute for Diversity and Empowerment a (IDEA). He is also the author of The East Is Black: Cold War China in the Black Radical Imagination (Duke University Press, 2014), which explores Black American political relations with Communist China during the Cold War.
