Assam's Citizen Register May Exclude Genuine Indians

The Indian state of Assam will soon release its National Register of Citizens, a list of residents of the state who can prove they have been living there for roughly seven decades. The government says the list will weed out illegal immigrants from neighbouring Bangladesh – but any flaws in the system can have far reaching repercussions on genuine Indians
