Tom Horne, superintendent of public schools in Arizona, is the architect of a recently passed law banning classes which promote ‘ethnic solidarity’. Widely seen as an attack on a popular Mexican-American Studies program in Tucson, the move has brought accusations of racism upon the state. Horne defends the move on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 in a debate with Michael Eric Dyson. Dyson is a professor of sociology at Georgetown University and a widely read author on the subject of racism in the U.S.
