Trevor Evans was until 2015 professor of economics at the Berlin School of Economics, and director of the university’s Institute for International Political Economy. He worked in the mid-1980s and the first half of the 1990s at the Regional Center for Economic and Social Research in Managua, Nicaragua. His most recent article on the country, "The family-party-state nexus in Nicaragua," was published in May 2018.
