Reggie James is director of the Lone Star Chapter of Sierra Club. Reggie oversees strategy and administration for Sierra Club’s Texas operations. Sierra Club, the oldest grassroots environmental organization in Texas is headquartered in Austin and maintains 11 volunteer led regional groups across the state. Prior to his arrival to Sierra Club in 2015, Reggie was director of the Southwest Regional Office of Consumers Union (Consumer Reports) in Austin, where he worked on legislative and regulatory advocacy for improved public and environmental health and safety, and for better low-income legal representation. He oversaw advocacy and national online organizing on a range of issue including healthcare, financial services, energy, telecommunications, and other consumer issues. Reggie is also a Navy nuclear submarine veteran.
