Josh Tulkin serves as the Director of the Maryland Sierra Club, leading a small team of paid staff and a much larger team of volunteers to protect Maryland's environment. Maryland's 22,000 members and supporters engage at the county and state in community organizing, advocacy, and outdoor outings to create a broad grassroots movement. The Maryland Sierra Club has been instrumental in supporting renewable energy, protecting the Chesapeake Bay and local watersheds, and advocating for clean public transportation. Prior to joining Sierra Club, Josh served as Deputy Director for Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN), where he coordinated the grassroots campaign to pass the Maryland Healthy Air Act. Recently Josh directed the Washington office of the Jewish Funds for Justice, a progressive foundation focused on interfaith engagement in social and economic justice. Josh is a founding member of the Energy Action Coalition and SustainUS, the US Youth Network for Sustainable Development.
