After the self-immolation protest death of a union leader, South Korean construction workers have held daily candlelight vigils and mobilized in the tens of thousands against President Yoon’s war on labor.

Dongmin Yang is an independent media activist living in South Korea. Since 2020, he has been running Studio R, an independent media organization that introduces the class struggles and radical social movements of Korean workers. He pays particular attention to the struggles of precarious workers such as call center workers, cleaning workers, and logistics center workers. He is a member of the revolutionary socialist organization ‘March to Socialism’. He participated in the ‘Spring Wind Project - We are here, 2022’, a documentary about labor, climate, anti-discrimination, and peace movements in South Korea, featuring the stories of call center workers at the Korea Student Aid Foundation.
