ZAA NKWETA, PRESENTER/PRODUCER: Asma Jahangir was put under house arrest yesterday, after President Musharraf declared emergency rule in Pakistan. She was interviewed in our studio only two weeks ago. Jahangir is the founder and chairperson of the Human Rights Commission in Pakistan and the U.N.’s Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief. Emergency rule in Pakistan sheds new light on Jahangir’s statements.
