Sanity on Iran? Tea Party and Pro-Israel Groups Rally Against Obama’s Nuclear Deal
Self-proclaimed patriots tell Max Blumenthal why the President should be executed for the Iran deal
VIDEO: On September 9, 2015, hundreds gathered at the U.S. Capitol to protest “the insanity” of President Obama’s deal with Iran.
SARAH PALIN: You all are a lot tougher than Alaskans, being able to be out here. I’m roasted, I’m melting. I’ve always said though, sweat is my sanity. So as I sweat, let’s bring some sanity to this discussion about this insane treaty that’s in front of Congress.
SPEAKER: I’m here for constitutional process. This is an illegal treaty being passed as a bill. We the people can actually go to grand juries and say this is treason, and we can indict people and charge them with felony treason. That could be done.
MAX BLUMENTHAL, WASHINGTON, DC: And charge Obama with treason.
BLUMENTHAL: But the punishment for treason is death.
BLUMENTHAL: So Obama should get the death penalty.
SPEAKER: Um, I would not disagree with that. You have a man who is actively trying to tear down the country. And given that it would not be out of historical standards to have that man executed.
SPEAKER: Look, we have this Jew-hating jihadist in the White House who’s done everything possible with Hillary and Kerry that’s already cost a half a million lives in the Middle East. Iran with nukes is World War III. Instead of having 60 million dead as we had in World War II and 7 million Jews murdered, no, now we’ll have billions dead and every Jew in the world will be under attack. So will the Christians, so will the Hindus, so will the Buddhists. Everybody that is so-called infidel.
BLUMENTHAL: Where were you radicalized?
SPEAKER: Miami Beach, where else. We don’t take prisoners. How about the fact we had 600 murders in Miami in 1980 because of the Mariel boatlift. The rest of the country didn’t care what we went through.
BLUMENTHAL: That was Carter, right.
SPEAKER: Thank you. And who was Carter, supporting Hamas. Carter, anti-Jewish. Carter, with his writing books and getting money from the Arabs for his Carter Center. Carter is one of the worst assholes that existed.
BLUMENTHAL: You think he’s being punished now?
SPEAKER: I’m sorry?
BLUMENTHAL: You think he’s being punished now?
SPEAKER: No. I’m glad he’s suffering and I want him to suffer more.
BLUMENTHAL: You’re not hot in there, boss?
SPEAKER: What do you think?
BLUMENTHAL: Seems like you’re dedicated.
SPEAKER: We all are. There’s not one person here that you see that’s protesting Bo Diddley. Only those Code Pink and those Jewish guys over there. Everybody here is celebrating love of God, love of country. We’re here because our country needs us. We love America, and we’re here because she needs us.
SPEAKER: With Planned Parenthood and the slaughter of our police officers in the streets, while we get into bed with bad guys and run guns in Benghazi to people who now rape children and sell them into slavery, we realize now that we have been silent for far too long.
BLUMENTHAL: You think Obama’s a Muslim?
SPEAKER: Yeah, he’s a Muslim. He’s been a Muslim his whole life. You don’t go to Indonesia and grow up in a Muslim school, because if you ain’t Muslim they don’t let you in it.
BLUMENTHAL: You think he’s in with Iran against America?
SPEAKER: The only reason Iran won’t bomb Washington is that he’s their leader.
SPEAKER: I’m not against the Iranian people. I’m against that evil regime and what they’re doing, and I’m against our politicians here who are buying into those lies.
BLUMENTHAL: Well, it’s an evil regime that’s against gay rights.
SPEAKER: Yeah, it–.
SPEAKER: Homosexual rights, buddy.
BLUMENTHAL: Homosexual rights?
SPEAKER: Homosexual, yeah.
BLUMENTHAL: What’s the difference?
SPEAKER: The language. Just a correction of the language.
BLUMENTHAL: We got to stop same-sex marriage and defend gay rights in Iran.
SPEAKER: That’s not my policy. I mean, that’s Iran’s policy. I have no problem with gay rights, I just don’t want them to take over our term of marriage. God himself created marriage by telling Eve and Adam to go and procreate, and you can’t do that when you’re a homosexual. It doesn’t work. Do not have a, what do you call it, a nut to screw.
BLUMENTHAL: You’ve got to have, like, a baseball bat and a catcher’s mitt.
BLUMENTHAL: Because a baseball bat goes into a catcher’s mitt.
SPEAKER: Right, right, right. Exactly.
BLUMENTHAL: What about, like, a baseball and a catcher’s mitt?
SPEAKER: I don’t know what you mean by that.
BLUMENTHAL: Well I mean, like a nut and a screw.
SPEAKER: You can’t have two nuts.
BLUMENTHAL: Right. You can’t have two nuts.
SPEAKER: Or two screws.
BLUMENTHAL: I have two nuts.
SPEAKER: Well, you do. But you cannot have children if you have a relationship with another male.
PALIN: Oh, and you know, since our president won’t say it, since he still hasn’t called off the dogs, we’ll say it. Police officers and first responders all across this great land, we’ve got your back. We salute you. Thank you, police officers.
SPEAKER: My girlfriend saw it and thought it would be fun. People are frustrated. They are mad at the president. And she thought this would be a good outlet for them to get their frustrations out. Take a [bop] if you want.
BLUMENTHAL: What do you think about the Black Lives Matter movement?
SPEAKER: I think there’s a lot of angry people there that probably have some wrong information about history. I think all lives matter. I understand what their concerns are, I do believe they have some valid concerns. But they’re not handling it properly and you should not be threatening the police, and I’m surprised that nobody’s taken a stand on that and enacted something that makes those threats illegal. Because to me it’s a death threat when they talk and chant like that to the police. That’s a death threat, and that should be addressed.
BLUMENTHAL: Like if they were holding mannequins of cops being attacked, that would be a threat.
SPEAKER: [Inaud.] that would be a threat, yes. Absolutely.
BLUMENTHAL: So jail for people who have effigies of government officials.
SPEAKER: Well, I think what they’re saying is no different. It’s inciting violence, and people are following through on that.
SPEAKER: It has nothing to do with his color. Because a lot of people will think that. It’s nothing to do with that.
BLUMENTHAL: It’s his policies.
SPEAKER: It’s his policies. Because without the white vote, this guy never would have made it as president. He wouldn’t be elected. So it’s not that. We’re not racist. It’s just we do not like him because of his policies.
SPEAKER: Want a card?
BLUMENTHAL: Sure. You’re pretty nimble with those gloves.
SPEAKER: Get a Captain America card out of there, hurry up.
SPEAKER: I’m getting hit by the wind.
BLUMENTHAL: Got it. Awesome. This says ‘Manipulism, the Weapons of [Guilt]’.
SPEAKER: Whatever, somebody threw it in there.
