The vast majority of energy used by the state of Texas comes from fuel, coal, and nuclear sources. However, as deadly Winter Storm Uri pummeled the state, causing major power grid failures that have left millions struggling to stay warm, conservatives around the country, from Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to Tucker Carlson, have taken to blaming renewable energy sources and the Green New Deal. As critics around the country have pointed out, these claims make no sense.
