Our news operation is based in Baltimore, from where we produce daily news pieces with a global focus. Our stories are viewed over 6 million times a month. The network is non-profit, supported by members, individual donors and foundations. We do not accept advertising or funding from governments or corporations.


Job Summary:

The Chase Producer will work closely with members of the editorial team to book qualified expert guests and newsmakers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Book wide variety of local and national academics, politicians, and other newsmakers in various fields, including geopolitics, economics, international law, community organizing, health/medicine, education, housing, etc. Stories focus on both domestic and international news
  • Conduct pre-interviews, secure facilities for remote interviews and arrange transportation for guests
  • Complete expense reports for any booked transportation/guest stays
  • Write or gather introductions for guests and suggested questions for anchors
  • Enterprise, conceptualize and pitch story ideas
  • Research and be well-read on news topics to find appropriate guests
  • Send daily thank you emails to guests
  • Coordinate with studio director and team for scheduling
  • Manage all daily production in TRNN’s project management system (Basecamp) and TRNN’s content management system (Dataminder)
  • Maintain TRNN’s guest database (Capsule CRM)
  • Coordinate with other producers to create and distribute a daily production schedule
  • Coordinate with partner organizations’ communication staff to ensure we are on top of the news cycle
  • On occasion, work late and/or on weekends




  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field is a plus


Skills and Experience:

  • Understanding of and interest in international and domestic politics, as well as the Real News Network’s editorial vision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially on the telephone and via email
  • Organizational skills, especially when multitasking
  • Some journalistic or broadcast experience
  • Persistence
  • The ability to work well with a team, and in high-stress situations
  • Critical and analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to work proactively and independently
  • Technical savviness
  • Ability to work on weekends and late nights on occasion
