PAUL JAY: Hi, I'm Paul Jay at The Real News Network. During our fundraising campaigns, we've had matching grants and we push and ask people to donate and get the match. And so, we've kind of skewed to one-time donations because people think if they donate a bigger amount one time it will get matched and that's more effective than perhaps a monthly donation.

And so now, we've realized that what we really need to do -- and we've asked our matching donor, which is mostly Quitiplas Foundation, for those of you who want to know -- to do something that helps spur monthly donors. So, if you donate monthly, we will get a match for a year. So, you donate 10 bucks, we'll get 120 bucks -- you donate 20 bucks and so on. You can go from there.

Monthly donations allow us to plan. It's a real base of sustainability. Because we haven't been pushing monthly donors, before we started this matching grant over a year, we had something like 500 or 600 monthly donors and we're now up, I believe, to somewhere in the range of about 1,200 monthly donors. But we need to get to the 5,000 monthly donors, which takes us a long way towards sustainability.

So, please consider giving monthly. As I say, the match will match for 12 months. It gives us enormous confidence to be able to strengthen our work and it also puts us in touch with you regularly, which is good. And if we're not doing very well, you can always stop it. So, please donate monthly and help us make Real News.
