LAPD blocked the street after arresting 8 or 9 protesters at the Occupy LA Chalkwalk, an event which took place on the sidewalk between 5th and 6th on Spring. Free chalk was handed out and the people invited to exercise their right to free speech in protest of the 11 arrests for sidewalk chalk writing that had taken place at the Occupy LA occupation in front of the CCA (Central City Association) building at 626 Wilshire in the previous month.
