Police fire multiple shotgun propelled "less than lethal" rounds (rubber bullets) and tear gas as they clear the street at the Downtown LA Artwalk Thursday July 12, 2012. After blocking the intersection of downtown streets 5th and Spring, the LAPD violently arrested a young woman for drawing in the street with chalk. video here http://youtu.be/_cAExitqATc They then cleared the entire area. This video is taken moving west down 5th st. Here is video of LAPD clearing Spring st http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBfNg6XoRg8&feature=related LAPD blocked the street after arresting 8 or 9 protesters at the Occupy LA Chalkwalk, an event which took place on the sidewalk between 5th and 6th on Spring. Free chalk was handed out and the people invited to exercise their right to free speech in protest of the 11 arrests for sidewalk chalk writing that had taken place at the Occupy LA occupation in front of the CCA (Central City Association) building at 626 Wilshire in the previous month.
