Precis

The US economy shed 95,000 jobs in September, according to the latest figures from the US labour department. The fall was almost double the previous month's losses. While the percentage of unemployed Americans remained unchanged at 9.6 per cent, the jobs crisis has had a devastating impact on minority groups, particularly African Americans. Al Jazeera's Rob Reynolds visted an employment training center in Los Angeles to hear from those affected first-hand.
