Since June’s presidential election, Iran has experienced a massive political upheaval, and just last
week the U.S. and Iran engaged in breakthrough discussions on Iran’s nuclear program. Are these two
developments related?
On Friday, October 16, at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, In These Times co-sponsored a
public exploration of this pivotal moment in Iran’s history and the critical issues involved in their peace
movement. The selected panel for Debating Engagement: A Critical Dialogue Among Progressives on
Iran & the Peace Movement featured the National Coordinator of Just Foreign Policy Robert Naiman
and DePaul University Professor of International Studies Kaveh Ehsani. BioRobert Naiman is Policy Director and National Coordinator at Just Foreign Policy. Naiman has worked as a policy analyst and researcher at the Center for Economic and Policy Research and Public Citizen's Global Trade Watch. He has masters degrees in economics and mathematics from the University of Illinois and has studied and worked in the Middle East. Naiman edits the Just Foreign Policy daily news summary and writes a blog on Huffington Post.

What are you taking about? the vote count didn't take hours, it took days.
The timeline is as follows: shortly before voting ended, Mousavi, the losing candidate claimed victory. Then with a portion of the votes counted, the ayatollah projected a win for the incumbant. Then the rest of votes were counted over the weekend, confirming the projection.
It works just like it does in this country as well
And of course both pre-election and post elections polls confirmed the results as well.

Robret Naiman scares the living daylights out of me. His ramblings about he has actually written about "stolen", completely miss the point.
I'd like him to explain to me how a HAND-count of millions of votes can be done in four hours.
He just scares me. |
