News Flash....04/08...Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad inaugurates a $1.5 billion oil refinery project in a deal with the Sri Lankan gov't....hmmmm, think somebody might be upset by the close ties between Iran and Sri Lanka?

A little perspective; Sri Lanks is about the size of West Virginia. In a Jan '09 report Time reported the Tigers to number 5k-10k in a population of 20+ million, but they also have sea forces, are well armed with rockets? and grenade launchers?.....the media needs to expose just who is financing this little coup that has been going on since 1972. Tell the world where the weapons come from and recommend "freedom of religion" to the Sri Lankan gov't as a political alternative to mass murder.

Since the UN was there to watch and count the bodies, I figure that Sri Lanka will be rewarded with development dollars for "elminating poverty". This is a sick world we are living in - war is peace and "humanitarians" are souless monsters.

I would like some analysis of motives and calculations of the Sri Lanka government in mounting the operation. For example, the role of the precedent provided by the comparable Israeli attack on Gaza and international tolerance of it. Also, Sri Lanka belongs to India's sphere of influence: New Delhi must have given the go-ahead. What are India's considerations? Naturally, it wants to crack down on secessionism abroad as well as at home. And there are apparently links between the Tamil Tigers and the Maoist insurgency in eastern India.
