Much has been said about the strong personalities who will feature in President-elect Barack Obama's national security "team of rivals." But Obama has already made it clear that "the buck stops" with him. Pepe Escobar argues that instead of "change," what America has in fact brought is an Obama vision that may not be too dissimilar from the war on terror framework.

"Basket" is the key word. Dude, you ever heard of HOOP? Do you have any sense of the game? Or what is really going on here? HOOP with the oil windfall tax, HOOP with the dream team? Sit down in front, people, this is too close in the game to call.
Think - Kobe Bryant.
Go play more HOOP. take it easy as you can, and watch the Empire Team unravel to foul-out. Your fears do not help anyone else, and each to his or her own.
Thanks.

Hi Shaw: voting is not enough to change the situation. The people of America (not the tiny ruling elite) must be prepared to protest & resist what is being done to them (& all the others on Earth who suffer under US policy). There are no prisons in the USA that can hold hundreds of millions of people.
I was reading an article on Cuba that featured a photo of a billboard there: "It is necessary to globalize solidarity" (my translation).

You want change? Then you should have voted for it (Nader, Paul, Kucinich, Gravel, &c.) Instead you voted Obama; CFR posterboy. If you think the US military was bad under Bush.. just wait. WW III. Your children have no future. You should have done your homework instead of so easily believing his propaganda, hypnotism & NLP in his speeches. Congradu-f*#king-lations Amerika.

It could be a good joke:
-Empire Classic or Empire Lights?
-Thank you, I don't smoke.

I don't really see a reason yet to be in shock. This is what Obama was about all along. This type of pragmatic transition team is what we need right now, the question is - what will it transition into as objectives are met? We are in a bad situation right now and we can't ignore the military dilemma we face. Simply turning 180 degrees to a peace stance will not accomplish anything - but if Obama is the thoughtful leader he appears to be, we have a decent chance of achieving certain goals that the previous administartion failed at and moving on to something else.
