Gilani elected as Pakistan's PM(CLIP BEGINS)WOMAN: Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has secured 264 votes.(CLIP ENDS)VOICEOVER: Pakistan's Parliament elected former speaker of the house Makhdoom Yousaf Raza Gilani as the new prime minister. Gilani is a member of the Pakistan Peoples Party and was a loyal aide to slain opposition leader Benazir Bhutto. Running against Musharraf's choice, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Gilani took 264 votes to Elahi's 42. Musharraf sent Gilani to prison for four years on allegations he abused his authority as speaker in the 1990s.
