Paul Jay speaks to Babak Yaktefar, Editor-in-Chief of washingtonprism.org about the call for punishment without mercy by a senior Iranian cleric at the Friday Prayers. Yaktefar says, "I doubt it would mean mass executions." He goes on to say that instead, "the Supreme Leader, to be able to regain his authority, may come out and offer some form of pardon or reduction of sentences."

US citizen must be so very proud of our government's barbarian’s act to overthrow the third world countries 24/7/365. pepe Escobar is definitely a violate promoter to serve the west agendas. To tell a blind that you can see, and denied the US, CIA Brit’s involvement is to say, let’s continue the bloody murder whoever the resources we need as long as we employ propaganda machine denies all the atrocities v. the 4 corner world, we got it made. The world can not ever have peace, and all the propagandas in the world to falsely promote a farce of “democratic” “freedom” and “peace” are a sugar coated murdering machine. And the story continues, tomorrow when sun arises the US, CIA and Brits slaughter another country for their coconut, sugar, oil, mineral and human life. When US laugh all the way to the bank, another millions of child, women, elderly left without food, clothes and water. You can deny all the wrong doings as long as you want, but the facts and reality stays.

The Road to Iraq and Afghanistan (and maybe Iran and Pakistan) started with the invasion of Panama under the direction of George H.W. Bush, the father. After the invasion, billions of dollars were removed from the Panamanian banking system by federal mandate, just in time to help bail out the failed S & L industry which collapsed under the weight of corruption and "deregulation. http://www.brasschecktv.com/page/654.html

A more pertinent interview.Yet PJ fails to ask why insiders admit CIA involvement which the respondant denied. Nor the most important issue facing Iranians the crippling social effect of economic sanctions.Iran is to have the government decided by zionist controlled america.Sanctions will be eased or tightened accordingly.Iran will be forced to hold reserves in USD not gold,HC sales will be in USD and membership of SCO will be blocked.Let them have as many elections as they like and create whatever style of society that benefits the greatest numbers it matters not.Iran is THE pivotal nation and has the support of many in its defiance of the world`s vicious rogue nation and its racist criminal cohort.

(3) Unfortunately, from the early days the same ultra-reactionary groups such as Basij, RG, and the security apparatus intentionally tried everything to provoke the demonstrators so that they could brutally repress it. And this is exactly what they have done so far especially by the targeted killing of the protestors. The green movement’s main demand for rerunning the election is simple, principal, legitimate, and realistic. The world should support the green movement with Mousavi-Karroubi leadership, and should never recognize Mr. Ahmadinejad as the president of Iran. (End)

(2) During the last few years most analysts were pointing their fingers towards the increasing power of the hardliners and their institutional links with the Revolutionary Guards (RG). Those who couldn’t see the incoming storm were taken by surprise. The same fanatical groups of Basij, which were tacitly supported by the RG and the conservative hardliners, turned presidency of the former reformist Mohammad Khatami into a nightmare especially by targeted killings of the students and the reformist intellectuals. In fact 2005 presidential election, which brought largely unknown Mr. Ahmadinejad to power, was also a rigged election. The power struggle within the elite factions of the regime has never been as tense as it is now. The legitimacy of green movement is its truthfulness and peaceful struggle to regain the stolen votes and this is why it should be supported. (continued)

(1) All clerical states are by their nature very repressive states that always restore to repressive measures. The fact that there are clerical states in 21st century is simply a shameful stigma on the whole humanity. The Ayatollah may indeed wish to have all those who question the holiness of the clergy and legitimacy of Ahmadinejad government to be hanged. But, this is neither Islamic nor it is in the interests of the regime. I am glad Mr. Babak Yektafer has been gradually moving to the correct position that the green protest movement have been spontaneous and totally independent from any foreign influence. However, Mr. Yektafer’s tone in this issue is still a soft diplomatic admittance rather than a firm journalistic confirmation i.e. as we have seen in Mr. Paul Jay’s interview with Mr. Reese Erlich.
