| Americans too distracted to tackle crisis: Economist Richard Wolff compares the US movement to the European one | |
| RTAmerica | 04 October 2010 Tackling the crisis -- European v. US economic directions -- What are the differences? Who has it right? Protests, rallies and new policies are popping up both in the United States and in Europe, but the two are perusing different paths. Economist Richard Wolff compares the US movement to the European one, and finds the European workers to be more advanced in their struggle. He argued that although Europe is more diverse than the US, they are more united than Americans when it comes to speaking out against government policies and the economic crisis. He explained that Americans are simply too distracted and lack the tools to speak out with a solid voice on specific economic issues. | |

After conceding, (quote) None of us are (sic) perfect and slamming vague -backroom deals, -she smilingly confides, (quote) I\'m you. (end quote) Umm, not. Nope. Our political discourse has become SNL material. Good grief. (quote) I\'ll go to Washington and do what you\'d do.(end quote) - O\'Donnell | |

| Children can't wait: water and sanitation in rural Bolivia | |
| UNICEFUK | 05 October 2010 Aid works. It has helped millions of children around the world to realise their rights. It means that millions more children live to see their fifth birthday and go to school. A lack of clean drinking water and proper sanitation spreads diseases, with children particularly vulnerable to falling ill or dying as a result. Aid has helped 1.8 billion more people gain access to improved drinking water sources since 1990. However, with more than half the population of rural Africa without access to clean water sources, and 1.2 billion people worldwide without access to any form of sanitation, there is still a lot of work to do. This video highlights the issue of access to water and sanitation in rural Bolivia. | |
