| BP Oil and White House reach compensation deal | |
| AlJazeeraEnglish 17 June 2010 So, after four hours behind closed doors, BP executives emerged from the White House promising to pay 20-billion dollars in compensation to victims of the Gulf coast oil disaster. The company\\\\\\\'s also cancelled dividend payments to shareholders for the rest of the year. But oil has been leaking for two months and BP\\\\\\\'s only able to contain less than half of what\\\\\\\'s gushing from the damaged well into the sea.
