Although ten Security Council members voted in favor of the resolution, Brazil, Russia, India, China together with Germany abstained. Asia Times' correspondent Pepe Escobar thinks it may be a sign that the BRIC countries are ready not just for economic but political cooperation on the global stage as well. | |
